In the spring of 2023, I bought a trailer for $4500 and had it delivered to a horse farm near Temecula, California.
I spent 5 months on that property trying to help the owner empty a huge garage so she could create a kitchen/dining area because they had lost their home in a fire. I swapped cleaning for a space near the horses.

Hans and Tilly lived there but Boss had passed. I’ve always dry camped here. I always have. I’ve never used running water in the caravan. Okay. I’ve switched it from trailer to caravan after being in England because I like the word better. I think it fits better, too.

She’s a 1970 Skylark Nomad. All original. I’ve used the fridge and the stove top and the heater but I don’t think they are that safe so stopped. Instead, I rely upon camping gear.
I bought a small solar panel and battery that has been excellent but have usually been on someone’s electric via an extension cord.
I’ve never used the water tank or the black tank. I have composted my waste and hauled 5 gallon containers of water or accessed a hose.

The space was glorious. Southern California is a spectacular place in the winter. In fact, I don’t think there’s anywhere else I’ve been that’s felt better in winter.
I met a beautiful young women called Nadia.

Her story is hers to tell but she was an amazing artist that did some drawings that I bought.
