The Jingle House: Cornwall, England

The chair is there because there is a transition that is uncommon for me and gets me every time!

I arrived on Monday and have brought terrible weather with me. I think the Vacation Angel knows that I need rain and wind to keep me indoors to write.

The cottage is one of several rental properties on a lovely piece of land that is stewarded by Ben and April Bennett. April is a professional gardener and it shows in the lovingly cared for plants, bushes, and trees. Flowers!

Ben is a musician and artist and it shows in his kind treatment of friends, children, and strangers. Ditto for April. I have landed in a magical space with beautiful people.

It is a one room house with a bathroom that has a great shower and, occasionally, Gary and Mary Shelly.

Today, the temperature is 56 F*ing degrees which is 13 C*ing degrees. It is raining with wind gusts up to 49 miles per hour. I am hunkered down in my den of retirement ADHD.

I am working on another jigsaw puzzle that I found in the library.

I found this book that has some of my favorite artists. When I see a painting that I have seen in a museum, in person, I am gratified and pleased with my life. Again.

My start of the “Artist’s” rendering of a beautiful sea view that I saw on Tuesday. One mile from the Jingle Cottage. That’s another story.

I also found a chessboard in the library. Someday, I hope, I will sit at that picnic table. But, not today.

I have reread and edited ten chapters of my little book. I thought that there were seven so I was happy. I am hoping to end the novel here in the Jingle House. In life and in the book.
