London Reunion

The planets have aligned and I have met John and Mike in London!

I arrived at Stansted after the lovely Bennetts drove me to the Newquay Airport. I arrived 3 hours early for my 1 hour 15 minute flight. I got the train tickets to Victoria station. None of them worked but I gave the attendants my best little old lady smile and they badged through the gates. I love my disguise.

I got to the station and walked to The White Ferry Hostel.

I met John in the lobby of their posh London hotel. He had an Apéro Spritz and I had a ginger beer.

Mike joined us and we were on our way. Jaywalking! “Mike! Wait for the Green Man!”

“I’m not waiting for the Green Man”, he said. So, I just walked on his side with him between me and oncoming traffic because he would be an excellent bumper.

We did eat dinner but gobbled it down without photos.

I didn’t have to steal it

I told our server that I discovered this place because of my Harry. I told her that I took the napkin last year. She asked me if I wanted a spoon. She brought it over and said, “Put it in your bag.”

We had a wonderful four hour dinner. Laughter and tears. Mike made a beautiful toast to me that made me cry. We talked about a former student, Roberta that had died and that made John cry. We laughed about so many shared experiences and shared our anticipation of more to come.

We parted at 11:00 PM. That’s late for me. But, I needed to get to bed because we had big plans for the next day.

We walked to our separate lodgings and I took a few photos along the way.
